Knowing
what printer to buy can sometimes be a minefield. Do you want
to print digital pictures or just print out letters - or maybe
both? Do you buy a Laserjet or Inkjet printer or an all in
one printer? Which printers are cheaper to run (i.e. replacing
ink cartridges), do you want quantity or quality for your
money?
If you just need to print out documents
such as letters, copies of Web pages from the Internet or
simple spreadsheets, a low-end inkjet printer is fine. If
you need to do presentations or high quality photographs,
you want a photo printer. If you print over 100 pages on a
daily basis and don't need colour, you may want to look at
laser printers. And, of course, if you need a combination
of scanner, printer, copier, and fax, a multifunction printer
is best.
